In accordance with its plans to expand regional routes, Airlink has signed a codeshare agreement with Sociedade de Transporte e Trabalho Aereo (TTA) and will be flying to Maputo from February 14.
TTA will operate the route with an Avro RJ85 leased from Airlink, with 14 business and 69 economy-class seats.
TTA has also employed 30 staff in Mozambique to operate passenger services, check in, baggage handling and cabin services.
“The TTA Airlink service will provide Mozambicans with convenient connections to the regional and international long-haul flights that depart from OR Tambo International Airport in the evenings,” said Airlink ceo and md, Rodger Foster.
Foster said the flights would also satisfy the needs of South African businessmen looking for same-day travel to and from Maputo.
The flights are as follows:
Departing Johannesburg 06h25, arriving in Maputo at 07h35 Monday to Saturday
Departing Maputo 18h00, arriving in Johannesburg at 19h15 Monday to Friday and Sunday
